The same thing happened pretty frequently when I lived in the UK. I can't imagine the tons of stuff that still might hidden under various cities.

Does anyone remember a British TV program called UXB? It was about a team that worked on removing bombs like this.
It was probably in the 80's.

May have been even older! I vaguely remember it, and I left England in 1975.

I think it was called 'Danger UXB'. PBS showed it in the States ( I <i>think</i> on Masterpiece Theater) in the early 80's.

i vaguely remember that too, but i don't think I watched it much. I'd like to say that I was too young, but I fear that was not the case.
