UNESCO World Heritage Sights

For those interested in such things, UNESCO's web site has a search mechanism where you can look up World Heritage Sites

www.unesco.org/whc/nwhc/pages/doc/mainf3.htm

Some of the premier attractions in the world are listed, from Butrint in Albania to the Khami Ruins in Zimbabwe, from Versailles to the Taj Mahal, from Red Square to St. Marks, from volanoes to deep lakes.

Interesting -- looked up Italy on this UNESCO site and learned that city of Verona is listed, "In its urban structure and its architecture, Verona is an outstanding example of a town that has developed progressively and uninterruptedly over two thousand years, incorporating artistic elements of the highest quality from each succeeding period."
