Has anyone seen this film?

Yes, I recommended Un Monde sans Pitié just the other day when somebody asked somewhere about movies that "show Paris well."

cigalechanta Mar 22nd, 2010 08:08 AM

It has mixed reviews but not available on netflix.

Well, it is just a thin wisp of a film (boy meets girl, boy loses girl...), but it has that certain Gallic charm.

Tangentially...how do you feel about Les Triplettes de Belleville? Definitely not what that poster was looking for, but I do love it. And the music!

cigalechanta Mar 23rd, 2010 06:35 PM

that's on netflix but I wanted to see this one also because I like Yvan Attel.

Triplettes de Belleville, very strange movie. Great music.

kerouac Mar 24th, 2010 01:08 AM

Un Monde sans Pitié is the movie that made Yvan Attal famous, and he wasn't even the star of the movie.

Triplettes de Belleville is fantastic! Such a great antidote to all those sickly sweet animated movies out there.
Haven't seen Un monde sans pitié but this thread has piqued my interest.
