Unable to Post Reply - Venetian Glass Bead Thread - leaving Wed. for Venice

For some reason I have been unable to post a reply to the Venetian glass bead thread so just wanted to thank everyone for the information and will definitely look up Theresa. Isn't the internet unbelievable?!!!

We leave on Wed. A.M. so it's those last couple of days analyzing what I have packed, taking out and putting in, and as someone else said, whatever I pack it will be all wrong! lol

The weather looks like it will be pleasant but possibly some rain (52 to 68/72 degrees). I have packed summer weight slacks, tops, and shirts. Of course, a nice skirt and top for dinner. Looks like it will be too warm for a leather jacket which I took last year and loved (Brussels).

Ronda,
HAVE A MARVELOUS TIME!!
Oh, check out Al Vagon for lunch/dinner ....Lunch is the best idea, because the bead store next to the restaurant won't be open at night!! AND the bead shop is fab!!
Also food is wonderful & location charming...on a small canal!!!!!
www.alvagon.com There is a map on their web-site!!!! (near the Rialto bridge)
PS save some beads for me...I'll be there in November!!

Oooo, Bailey, that restaurant looks pretty good. Have you eaten there? If so, what did you like?

Ronda,
Yes, we had a fabulous lunch at Al Vagon!!
Octopus grilled w/ lemon, superb!
Spaghetti Bolognese, nicely seasoned!
Went wild w/ desserts...Meringue dessert/tartufo/creme caramel....terrific!
We had a bottle of '99 Ruber Capito, Bosco deil Merlo
AND a terrific aromatic grappa, Borghi Vento,..Pinto Grigio.
The owner also treated us to a limoncino...the house limoncello.
She was a gem!!
It was one of the best meals we had in Venice.
While you're there, check out one of their rooms....there is a small pensione upstairs...lovely!!

La Compagnia delle Perle is the name of the bead shop located next door....S S Apostoli 5622 041-5206969 They close at 12:30 for a lunch break...so go early & bead shop first!!
If you have any other [email protected] Have a fabulous trip!!
