Umbria for 2 weeks

We are going to Umbria for 2 weeks next Oct and want to stay in one central place and do day trips in car. We want a nice sized town with different restaurants and market. Not big city, not Assisi. We have stayed in Tuscany. Any suggestions? We will want to stay in a BnB or Agritourisimo. Thank you.

Look at Spello for location.

Here is a good article that may help:

My son loved this B%B in that region:

Spello is centrally located. Other places nearby would be Bevagna or Montefalco. Other ideas would be the cities on the north side of Lake Trasimeno between Perugia and Cortona.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Take a look at lecasegialle.it, a group of five apartments five or so km. west of Bevagna. Privacy, a pool and a copy of the International NYT and a loaf of warm bread outside your door every morning. And 700 olive trees.

DRJ and OP,

Le Case Gialle is a wonder place to stay but unfortunaty is closed. They are trying to sell the property. Perhaps it will reopen by next October, but with different owners. For now, you cannot book (I know- I tried).

I knew that Mauro had it for sale, but the website is still up. There goes my yearly six pack of olio olive.
