UK'S GNER INVADES ITALY
UK'S GNER TO START ITALIAN SERVICE?
Uk train operator GNER, operator of many trains over the successful east coast mainline to Scotland has obtained a license to offer long-distance passenger service in Italy! Caio! |
and, already translators are busy translating into Italian:
GNER regret to apologize for the delay and are sincerely sorry for any inconveniences this may cause. |
...but since GNER's sister company operates the Orient Express from Paris to Venice (and a pretty huge slice of all the world's luxury trains) already, they've already got the Italian for otherwise unheard phrases on Italian trains like "the wine on this train is interesting", "the attendant has prepared your compartment, sir" and "do you like your Martini stirred or shaken?"
GNER is, however, still struggling to understand common phrases on the Italian railway system which are virtually unheard in modern British companies. Like "Sciopero". |
Hmm, so you don't regard the Tube as a modern British compnay then Flanner.
Actually, maybe you're right. |
Also working on Italian for:
"this is the purser - the buffet car is now open - small change and bills are greatly appreciated!" |
