I booked through UKhotel.com last year. I found the site quite useful. The good thing about it is that you don't actually book through the site itself as such, rather through the individual owners. This way you don't pay any commission! :-) It also looks like the site is becoming increasingly useful as it now links across to other sites like UKcottage.com, UKbed.com, UKattraction.com and so on, meaning you'll be able to find restaurants/tourist attractions in the area that you're staying. Simple but nice IMHO!

Mary, when you are ready to book, do you contact the hotel via email or telephone? I've noticed that many of the hotels do not list their rates...how do I know that they are offering special rates? Do I need to tell them I am booking through UKhotel.com? <BR>Are you familiar with hotelshop.com? I saw a post about it the other day. <BR>Thanks <BR>Gomer

I contacted a few hotels by email. Virtually all of those featured on the site give their email address. <BR> <BR>I haven't noticed any hotels on the site that don't give their rates yet but, if there are some, I would check first obviously. It probably does no harm to tell them you are booking through UKhotel.com - I think some give special rates through that site. <BR> <BR>Finally, sorry but I'm not familiar with that other site! <BR> <BR>Mary <BR>
