UK Theatre site won't accept US zip code
I tried to buy a ticket for School of Rock in London on the official School of Rock site but when it got to payment information it says Postal Code - and would not accept my zip code even though I had United States in the country box. As well it has "Address line 1, line 2 and line 3" but does not specify what should go in them - i.e. does the town go in the second box, state in the third? It also asks for the County. Very confusing and disappointing as the ticket I want is 25 pounds but on other sites prices are a lot more plus fees.
Anyone have this situation? |
Call the theater.
Well, I wouldn't call the theater because that website is not the theater's website, and the OP wants those well priced tickets that only the website offers.
(Does no one actually read the post??) But is there some way to contact the website's customer service? There usually is at least an email address. I can't think of any other way around the problem. Oh wait--is there a way to switch the website to US--usually in the upper right hand corner of the home page? |
It is the theatres site or at least the producers but I'm not calling London. Seeing if I can switch to a US site may work
try the address of wherever you are staying in the UK
It has to be the address for my credit card billing. Can't switch to a US version on the site
It's the producers' site, but still not the theater's.
Can you contact the site's Help? |
Took out post code all together and it went through
Glad it worked -- didn't see your post until just now -- not to worry, it definitely is the theatre's website. Many London theatres do it that way - (especially Lloyd Webber productions)
I think there's a difference between the official show website and the theater website. But whatever. Glad you found a solution!
Glad you got it to work, but what's your issue with calling London?
<<Glad you got it to work, but what's your issue with calling London?>>
A $10 call to London is too much to pay for saving $100 or so on tickets. That's my guess. |
Seems a reasonable objection to me.
Seems a reason to switch the phone company.
Ten Dollars? On Skype?
No reason a short call to London should cost 10 USD. This is 2017.
We Americans who live in the UK have the same problem with certain US websites, which aren't set up to recognise British addresses and telephone numbers.

I had the same problem trying to get tickets to Don Juan in Soho in May. We just went to TKTS in Leicester Square on arrival and had no problem getting pretty good seats. (We also had trouble getting reservations on the ferry on line due to the postal code deal. Ended up calling them.) Will try taking out the postal code next time, thanks!
