UK, Ireland, Amsterdam trip

Hi all. I am leaving for London this wednesday (will arrive @ Heathrow @ 10:40am on thursday...april 24). I am planning on a few days in London, then off to dublin, then to scotland, then amsterdam, and then back to London to get my flight back home. I am mainly looking for information about the flights between all the cities. I know about ryanair, aer lingus, and easyjet. My question is, can you buy tickets for the flights right @ the airports, or are they only online or via phone. Are they cheaper @ the last min, or booking a few days in advance? As I have 16 days for this trip, I have not really made a firm itineary for my travels as of yet.

The earlier you book, the cheaper the tickets on these airlines. And when I say early, I mean really early! (like 6 months in advance) So check the websites and if the fares are still reasonable, book them NOW.

You've probably left it too late to get decent prices on easyjet and Ryan Air. I've found that it's often cheaper to go with the regular (for lack of a better word) airlines for last-minute flights.

Homer: the others are correct - the "low fare" airlines are really only low fare when booked well in advance. You have left it to the last minute so you might be out of luck. I would head straight to a high street travel agent once you are in London - they might have some bargains hanging around.

That's good advice from Janis. You can get some great last-minute deals from travel agents in the UK.
