UK: hotel near Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall
 

Please suggest a hotel near Chatsworth and Hardwick House.

Preferably a good sized quiet room. Possibilities include Cavendish Hotel (on the Chatsworth estate), Peacock at Rowsley, Peak Edge Hotel (which all seem in the £200 per night range), but we're very open to suggestion.

Staying on the estate would be great -- but I personally would not move hotels to see the three houses. Pick one hotel and use it as a base for all three (see my post on your other thread)

We're just looking for one hotel and would like a recommendation on which would be the best.

OK - I'm maybe a bit confused. if you are only looking for <i>one</i> hotel . . . why two threads?

It appeared you were looking for two different properties, one near the Grange and one for Chatsworth . . .

One hotel near the Grange and one near Chatsworth and Hardwick. I thought you were asking if one near Chatsworth and one near Hardwick.

OK then - No - I definitely do NOT think you need two hotels. The three properties are all w/i easy commute distance of each other. Pick one - on the Chatsworth Estate or the De Vere . . . either would be fine.

Some years ago we stayed at the Cavendish Hotel and liked it very much. The hotel has some fine pieces of furniture that came from Chatsworth, and our room had a nice view and was quite comfortable. The walk through the forest to the grand house was pleasant.
