UK, Havana then Hawaii
 

Hi everyone, we are leaving to do a 4 week Frequent Flyers trip in November from Australia. We are on a shoestring but really looking forward to it. Our biggest challenge at present is spending a night in Paris during our UK leg, which is the first couple of weeks in November. I imagine it must be possible to do it cheaply.. are there any last minute sites to check out? Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap but good method to get to Paris and back? We are also having some challenges with Havana Hotels, we will be there from 11 to 25 november... any recommendations? We are hoping to learn some salsa while we are there.. has anyone done this?

I'm a little confused. Will you be spending just one night in Paris after traveling there from London on the Eurostar?

If so, will you then train back to London for the next leg of your journey, or fly out of Paris?

How are you getting from Havana to Hawaii? The US doesn't allow citizens to visit Cuba, but I think there is a flight from Miami. Otherwise you'll have to go through Cancun, The Bahamas or Canada (well those are the ways I know how US citizens get to Cuba).

ncgrrl: we are going London, Toronto, Havana Toronto then Hawaii..

There really is only one way to travel between Paris and London – the Eurostar. If you book in advance it isn’t pricey, and it 2 ¼ hours station to station.

As for hotels in Havana I have stayed in the Sevilla and the Plaza. The Sevilla has more of a faded mafia charm. The one I would avoid is the Nacional. It’s full of prostitutes (I realise that this may be a selling point for some!).

If you ask the immigration people at Havana they won’t stamp your passport. But beware that if you have cigars etc the USA customs can get quite shirty (The yanks are frankly mental about Cuba. There is no end to their idiocy on this issue)
