UK concert ticket outlets

I am researching what concerts etc might be on in UK/Europe while I am visiting. Can you name some ticket outlets that I can look up on the web please
Cheers

What sort of concerts - rock ? classical ?

Countries ? Cities ?

all of the above, am travelling all over - just after any names you might have, no other info needed, just if anyone has any ticket outlets - I can look up the rest (in Oz we have ticketmaster, venuetic, ticketek - these are the types of things I am after....)

Ticket master are the biggest (and the biggest rip-off). They cover pretty much every gig other than the really tiny clubs.

The websites is usually www.ticketmaster followed by the country suffix eg .co.uk, .fr, .de etc

Agree Ticketmaster is a rip-off - better to book direct with the venue. I suppose it does give you an initial (although selective) list of what's on, though.

In Italy I have booked opera through www.charta.it.

P.S. Charta do stuff other than opera too.

http://www.whatsonwhen.com

This should have all sorts of upcoming events, including concerts

try
seetickets.com -
gigsandtours.com -
aloud.com -
ticketzone.co.uk

you will find all of these charge quite a large booking fee but ticketmaster seem to be the most. with most gigs in uk you will have difficulty booking direct with venue, especially rock or pop events nearly every one uses an agency and not all agencys carry the same gigs.

Thanks, very helpful!

I found this website when I was looking for concert tickets in Europe recently. I haven't used the website, so can't advise on reliability, costs etc. Unfortunately none of the concerts I'm interested in work in well with our itinerary. http://www.worldticketshop.com/concerts
