UK by train--suggestions?
 

i know i have already asked for general uk suggestions, thanks everyone for all the great ideas. my bro (18) and i (20) have organized our plans a bit more and are looking for some more specific ideas.
we will be traveling by train and i am disabled and can't walk more than abt 5mi from train/bus stop to hostel but that is our only limiter. our basic route is: london-->glastonbury/bath-->cardiff-->lakes district-->skye-->inverness-->leichester(where we have friends to visit)
we have 4 or 5 weeks in late june/early july depending on $issues. any ideas of stuff to do, places to stay or eat, events to go to etc will be much appreciated. thanks :)

Each national and local tourist organisation should have information focussed on accessibility. If you haven't already, try the "Practical Information" link at www.visitbritain.com, and www.directenquiries.com.

You'll get a lot more advice about hostelly-type places to stay and eat at the Lonely Planet site. Though bringing this back to the top might get the morning shift to come up with visit suggestions.

But on mobility. Do bear in mind that our intercontinental airports are HUGE, but that airlines and airports not only provide wheelchairs but speed you (and your brother) through the endless queues.

Remember too that railway stations were designed in the days when either one's servants carried one around if the gout was playing up or the disabled poor simply didn't travel. Leicester is an interesting place to end up. It's where the UK's National Space Museum is located. But also you'll find some very fine Curry Houses in Leicester... and some lovely countryside.

Glastonbury hasn't got a train station (it's tiny). You have to get a coach there.

david_west: thanks for the info, i didnt realize there was no stop in glastonbury. we're big king arthur fans and figured it'd be a good place for that.
