I believe this ending was foretold.

Yes, Palenq, I am big fan of Mussolini and all the other Fascists who killed my and other people's families.

I am slightly amused that this thread was started by someone who habitually wears a baseball cap, apparently at all times.

Fair point. Why on earth do people wear them unless they are actually playing rounders? Even then, the stupid thing doesn't protect the back of the neck.
Perhaps Pal should buy himself a cricket hat or a panama. I draw the line at a Stetson.

When a forum gets to the Hitler reference it is time to stop.

Clairvoyant - not a'tal - never wear a baseball cap or any cap except a woolie cap in winter, just my usual blinders!

Just in Bayeaux cathedral then, thank goodness.

PalenQ Jun 7th, 2014 05:28 AM

Well that was a long long time ago when I guess I did come to think of it - now it all comes together. Hats off to tarquin for ferreting that out!

I don't mind tourists usually, despite living in the business district which is filled with attractions for them to the point where a Hop On/Hop Off bus passes my balcony several times a day during the summer. But I get incredibly frustrated when there are tourists snapping pictures on my university campus. There is at most 1 known building and a few pretty ones, but it's an academic institution, not a tourist attraction and while I don't mind waiting on the sidewalk/going around a few who are taking pictures of themselves, I've encountered a few rude ones from different nationalities who think the people who conduct their daily lives there are obligated to wait for them to take the perfect shot. It's like these tourists forget that people actually live in the city and have heavy schedules.

It's not the ugly Americans that cause heads frustration but rather the topless elderly bathing in places like Greece and Spain that make the locals shudder.
