Uffizi Calling - Anyone Get Through?
 

For the last three mornings, I've called the Uffizi reservation number. I press 2 for English, 4 to make reservations and then listen to some lovely (although rather loud) music for about 5 minutes at which time an automated voice tells me all operators are busy and to please try again later. I'm dialing between 5 and 6:30 am EST which is between 11 and 12:30, Italian Time. Is anyone else getting through? Did anyone find a better time to call?

Julieann, We're renting an apartment while we are in Florence. I assummed that they wouldn't do this, but I should really look into it.

Doofus, that site has a rather hefty booking fee. There are six of us going, so booking by phone would be a substantial savings.

Try calling earlier or later. I was just there 2 weeks ago and it seemed to be more busy at the reserved ticket office when we left the museum around lunch. Go as early in the morning as possible. It tends to get crowded after lunch. When you do get through you can make reservations at the accademia to see the David on the same call.

I called 2 days before I was in Florence, at around 9am Italian time and got right through with no delay.
