Uffizi & Accademia Tickets
 

I am trying to book tickets for the Uffizi Gallery and Academia through the official website for next week, however it says that no time slots are available. Does this sound correct or is there a possibility that there is something wrong with the website? At this point, do we just have to buy tickets when we get there or are we not going to be able to see this two museums because we are booking too late? Thanks

Apparently you may have more luck phoning +39055294883 (if it's all in Italian, press 2 for the operator). Otherwise I imagine you'll be queuing up for a while...

if the phone no doesn't work, you could ask your hotel to get the tickets for you - they will probably have contacts that you don't. it is possible that it is sold out - Florence was very full of tourists a month ago.

if you miss out, there are many other museums to see which have far fewer people. in particular, the palazzo vecchio opens some nights as late as 11pm, so you can probably have it to yourselves.

It seems like I can buy tickets on other websites, but the extra fees are a bit much. It seems to be about 5.70 Euros/ticket and then there is also a Exhibition fee of 4 Euros/ticket. So if we did both Accademia and Uffizi it's about 20 Euros/person extra, which is a bit much if we can avoid it.

The regular price of the tickets are 6.50€, but if you book directly with the museum site there is a 4€ booking fee plus if there is any special exhibit (seems like there always is in summer) you have to pay that too which typically makes admission about 10€ (not including booking fee).

I don't really see much lines for the Accademia after lunch or later in the afternoon. Last time I was there the line was for people paying by credit card. If you had cash (they wanted exact change) you could get in another line and go on in.

I don't have a problem with the 4 Euro fee, but the websites were charging for that fee plus their own fees. I'm assuming if you call the number listed above, it will only be the 6.50 plus the 4. I will try tomorrow morning since you cannot make reservations today.

Rosie - ditto about getting to the Academia late. we stayed in an apartment just around the corner and we walked past quite often in the late afternoon when there was no-one outside at all.

the museum of the convent of St. Marco in the eponymous square adjoining the Academia is very lovely and when I got there at 8.45 am, it was blessedly empty. it only opened mornings though so it is not very easy to combine with a late afternoon visit to the Academia.

We were in Florence last week and their website was showing nothing available until the following week. We showed up at the Academia the following morning around 8:45 am. Across the street from the Academia at #51 is their reservation office. We bought tickets there for a 9 am reservation. There was an extra $4 Euro charge - but well worth NOT waiting in the long line. The statue of David is in my opinion the greatest work of art I've seen in my whole life! Don't miss it!
