U2 sightings?
 

Hi! <BR> <BR>Just thought I'd start off yet ANOTHER post... (although I should just email Cathy directly as she is the expert on Ireland!) <BR> <BR>I am heading to Ireland & will be in Dublin. Does anyone know if the band members of U2 will actually be in town , do they ever do surprise gigs even solo (fat chance I know!! or would that be slim chance?!) and are there any U2 "tours" - i.e., where they worked on their first album, where they went to school, etc etc. <BR> <BR>last but not least - are there any recommended concerts going on in Dublin the night of June 3? (I fly home June 4) <BR> <BR>thanks! <BR> <BR>Beth

No real good answer to your questions, but they have a great web site: atu2.com. Maybe there's something available there.

Thanks for the compliments Beth and sorry I wasn't quick enough to answer your post before it headed dowawards - the board is very busy at the moment. I check my work email & the board more often than I do my hotmail account - so you could have been waiting for longer for a reply to an email. <BR> <BR>Re U2 there are some walking tours of Dublin that mention -"U2 played here etc" etc. One place worth checking out though for U2 fans is Windmill Lane Studios down on the docks area - they used to have a wall covered in <BR>fan's signaures etc - but I am not sure if it is still there - that was in the days when going down the docks was something you did in broad daylight but the whole area has been redeveloped with a Jurys Customer House Hotel across from the studios. The band do most of their recordings there. <BR> <BR>RE concerts - very little chance - all the members of the band are doing other things ie charity work etc so apart from last March when they got the freedom of the city and performed I doubt there will be any free concerts. <BR> <BR>Best place to spot any members esp. Bono or The Edge is in the Clarence Hotel (they own it) otherwise they all live in the Dalkey area (exclusive south side area of Dublin) behind high walls etc. <BR> <BR>Hope that helps, Have a good holiday <BR> <BR>Cathy
