U.S. Or Canadian Travelers Chequesuai

Is it better to get Us or Canadian travelers cheques When traveling in Italy? Thanks Shelley

In my humble opinion, traveller's cheques are a bit of a dinosaur if you have ATM access, but as an emergency backup, I may carry a few. I use American ones because AAA gives them to me for free. I had no trouble with ATMs in Italy when I was there in 1998.

If you are from the USA, get them in US$. If you live in Canada, get them in Can$. This way, you only loose once on the exchange rate. <BR>

I am Canadian thats why I prefer to take C$ so as not to loose out 2X with the exchange rate. But in Italy they give better exchange with Cash than travellers checks. But if you plan to travel within Europe I suggest the Euro dollar TC's.
