U.S. Air Marshals Flooding German, British Flights
 

Has anyone else heard about this?

Just a FYI and hoping to hear your thoughts on this situation.

Is that why seats are so expensive?

Anyhow apparently there's yet another plot to hi-jack planes and fly them into buildings. Though why anyone would go to the trouble of flying the transatlantic to do so I don't know

I can totally understand a hijacker taking over a transatlantic flight to crash it into a structure. Big plane, full of lots of fuel. You take over right after takeoff and crash it in the country of origin.
If I've thought of it, you can bet some terrorist has.

There are no significant high buildings in Germany. However, what about Neuschwanstein? :D :D.
I believe it has a tower.

We're very unlikely ever to know whether the story about marshals is true, or whether the underlying plot exists. Or whether the plot exists, but they're short of marshals so they're leaking this. Or whether the plot doesn't exist, but Al Qaeda's leaked a story about it to lure marshals onto flights they're not targetting so they can have the flights they are targettig to themselves.

Taking probably sensible precautions against possible threats is what those chaps and chapesses are there for. Are armed marshals are the best way to control things? No idea and we'll only really know when they have to do a job.

Till then: hope for the best and make sure our protectors are planning for the worst.

They are "afraid someone is going to light something up or blow something up in the back..."

by the time it is lit or blown I wonder if the air marshall will know what has just occurred

I think I will get on my plane to London in a few hours and not worry about this.....

(My theory is that if the "plot" has leaked, the terrorists are on to a new plot.)

wonder if marshalls are getting FF miles?
