Tyrol day hiking

Hello, I would love some help planning a trip to the Tyrol in Austria. I think I want to be in The Otz Valley . My objective is to dayhike every day. If that is indeed I good area for hiking, what town should I be based in? Also is this an area where public transport is abundant or should I rent a car.
We typically rent an apartment and our stays are usually 10+ days. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.

Oetztal is fine for hiking. Best bases: Soelden with buses to Vent and Obergurgl - Hochgurgl - Timmelsjoch - Italy and cableways to Hochsoelden and the glaciers.

Trains from Munich, Zurich or Slzburg - Innsbruck to Oetztal plus connecting bus
