Two Weeks - One country in Europe?
 

Hi If you had two weeks to spend in ONE Country in Europe, which would you choose? Please exclude Italy and France as we have been to both 3 times. Cheers Pawsha

Greece

Greece, Spain, or Germany

Germany (with a sprinkling of Austria).

All of the above are great suggestions, but in 2005 we spent 2 weeks driving around the UK. We liked every place, but Northern Wales was the highlight.

It varies by season.
Summer=Alps
Spring=Spain/Sicily

I could spend/enjoy two weeks in just about any European country - but if I had to choose just one it would be Scotland in June by a long margin.

I'd be joining janis in Scotland...but I do quite like Belgium.

I would do the UK - with Germany second. I might do Spain - but only if it could be April - not later in the year.

I spent 3 weeks in Switzerland and really enjoyed it.

Thanks for input. Was surprised no-one mentioned Turkey or Croatia. Are these no-nos or just lower in your "best for two weeks" places? Cheers Pawsha

Croatia is rather small, not too many museums an cities to see.
If you go in the summer, I would recommend UK.

Sorry, but I'll have to miss janisj in Scotland. Edinburgh during Festival (10 Aug to 2 Sept this year) is my idea of perfect.

I am totally shocked no one said ITALY! (Well, except for Sicily.) Italy has it all!

OOOPPPS... didn't read the question very well! DUH.

I thought I was being charitable, but I guess somebody wants to spar. Okay: August in Edinburgh would be ideal, because janisj would be gone two months before.
