Two week travel itinerary including Paris

My wife and I just returned from London,Rome,Florence and Venice. We want to see Paris on our next trip and include two or three more destinations. Any suggestions? Thought about Praque, not sure. Will start or end in Paris.

It depends when you are going. I think it makes most sense to group a couple places or countries together that aren't that far apart. However, with some cheap local flights, you can get from Paris to/from Spain, for example, easy and pretty cheap. I have combined Spain with Paris several times as I love both places. For Spain, either Barcelona or Madrid, I haven't done those two together, although you could, actually, depends on your timing. You could fly into Madrid or Barcelona, take the high-speed train to the other and then fly to Paris to end. I know there are good cheap flights between Paris and those cities.

Or, you could combine Paris with Prague, sure, I've done that. There are some cheap flights between the two but their schedule isn't as good. Or, you could go from Prague by train up to Dresden (or Berlin) and then to Paris, maybe. I would suggest Krakow but Krakow and Prague are not easily connected. But you could do Krakow and Paris easily, again, I know there are good flights between them. If you are interested in Poland, you could add another place or two in Poland. Or some other place in France, like maybe Strasbourg, with Paris. Of course you could do Paris, then Belgium, then Amsterdam.

A friend just came back from 3 weeks in Europe: Flew to Berlin, ground transportation to Amsterdam and then Paris, returned from Paris.

Great minds think alike! I was thinking Spain was the winner. So, if we flew to Barcelona(4 nights), flew out of Madrid(3 nights) to Paris (would be 4 nights), any suggestion for 2 or 3 nights somewhere else in the mix?

If you've never been to Paris why not just add the nights there?? Lots to see and do in Paris. Lots of day trips from Paris like Versailles, Chartres, Giverny, and others I'm sure which may interest you.

Two weeks I suggest three destinations at the most, flying with multi-city tickets. Barcelona/Madrid the train takes 2.5 to 3 hours as I recall.

if you have two weeks, Barcelona, Madrid and Paris should be enough. You can do day trips from all of those, they have great day trips (Toledo, Segovia, the Monestery outside Barcelona, and there are many around Paris). The problem when you say another place, that means you can't take those cheap flights between them (at least from Spain to Paris).

I like Easyjet and am flying it soon from Malaga to Paris. Easyjet also flies from both Madrid and Barcelona to Paris CDG airport. Fares are usually around 40-60 euro. If you had to add another (I would not), you can also fly Easyjet to Lyon, France, and after a couple days there, you can easily take the TGV direct to Paris.

The low-cost Spanish airline Vueling also flies Barcelona to Paris direct. They have flights to both CDG and Orly--I would choose Orly if it suits your schedule, as it is smaller than CDG and closer to Paris. They also have direct flights from Madrid to CDG. YOu can compare these two airlines' schedules and fares.

Agree to add more days to Paris - esp if you want to do a day trip - such as Versailles.

Also depends a lot on the exact time of year - Madrid can be hellishly hot in the summer but does also get a winter.

If it were me I would probably combine Paris with Netherlands and Belgium - if it's weather when countryside/road trip would be fun.
