Two TGV questions

Timing: I'm looking at fares between Avignon and CDG for early May, on a Saturday morning. No PREMS are listed. Fares are pretty high. Should I buy now, or is there a chance price will be lowered in the next few weeks?

Seating: In 2nd class, choices are carre or kiosque? The latter seems to be side by side, the former two seats facing each other. Any idea of the exact meaning of those terms (now that English version of SNCF website is unavailable?

Hi from what I remember in other posts you are looking too soon. I think you can only book 60 days from when you want to travel. I am going to try to book Prems tickets for early June and have made a diary note to start checking in March/April for availability.
Can't help with the rest of the question, sorry.

Cathies:

I'm within the 3 month window for PREMS. I just got those fares going from Paris to Avignon -- cheaper in 1st class than 2nd! So I don't think it's too early (but yes, you'll have to wait a bit, tick tock).

I just did a fake search using May 1 and came up with several PREM fares. But they are kind of ephemeral - might be there one minute and gone the next. The fare I saw for a mid-day train was 44.5 euro.

Yes kiosque means a grouping of 4 seats, 2 facing 2, with a "table" in between. Carre is just regular side-by-side seats.

Thanks so much -- the seating makes sense, I'll just check every so often for fares before biting the bullet.

Didn't mean to mislead you about the 60 days!! Thank goodness for StCirq and other much more travelled posters.
