Two nights in Trogir or Rovinj?
I'm rethinking my Croatia itinerary the more I think about it... Right now we arrive in Split in the a.m., take the 8:30 ferry to Hvar and stay there until the following afternoon. Then to Dubrovnik for 3 nights (2 full days). From there, we drive to Trogir and spend 2 nights (1-1/2 days) to see Trogir and Split. Then on to one night in Rovinj before heading into Italy. Do you guys think we should leave Trogir a day earlier (only having 1 day/night instead of 2 nights) and spend 2 nights in Rovinj instead? The drive to Rovinj is pretty long, abt 5-1/2 hrs, so if we leave Trogir in the afternoon and spend 2 nights in Rovinj, it would give us 1 full day in each city. I know it's a busy itinerary, but we don't have much time and a lot of ground to cover. Thanks for all the help!

Hi there
I have never been to Rovinj, and from what have heard, it's apparently very nice, but what i can tell you, from experience, is that you will need indeed 1.1/2 day to visit Trogir and Split. The historic town centers are quite small, but nevertheless it would be a real shame to rush it and try to fit it all in less than a day, definetely! Kastelsegnic www.kastelsegnic.info |
Hi
We've been to Trogir and Rovinj. Hands down I would spend 2 nights in Rovinj. It's larger and is on a beautiful location. There is more to see and just soak up the atmosphere. Trogir was smaller than we thought. we spent 2 nights there though 1 would have been sufficient. We are not usually people to look and run. We spent almost a week just enjoying Rovinj and Porec. The drive from Trogir to Rovinj is about 5-1/2 to 6 hrs. though I thought a new highway may have been built. We did that as a round trip in order to return to Rovinj. Enjoy your trip. |
thanks for the help! still haven't quite decided, but at least i have a little more info to work with...
