Two hours in Positano-best things to do

We will be taking the bus from Sorrento at around 9 am to Positano, spend couple of hours' and then proceed to Amalfi, spend couple of hours, go to Ravello and come back Amalfi and either take the bus or ferry to Sorrento and catch circumvesuviana to Naples to reach Naples by 6 pm to catch a train to Rome. Any advise on what we can do in Positano and Amalfi in that time? This will be in September.

We will skip Ravello if we don't have enough time

If you have at least an extra hour, take the seaside path that begins at COVO DEI SARCENI hotel in town near the dock toward Fornillo Beach. The flower- lined path winds along the sea and has lots of gorgeous unobstructed views of the coast. If you take it as far as it goes ( about half a mile or so) you'll end up at Fornillo Beach, which is less crazy and crowded than the beach right in Positano.

You simply don't have time to do all the things you list. If you leave Sorrento at 9am, you won't be in Positano until half past at the earliest, depending on the time of the year and traffic. If you walk down to the beach through all the shops and side routes, grab a coffee, it will now be near enought to noon. The bus to Amalfi will take another 30 minutes minimum and you need to look around and eat lunch. It's now 3:00pm. You have three hours to get to the station in Naples.

Bus back to Sorrento, best part of an hour, again depending on traffic. Train to Naples takes another hour, transfer from the Circumvesuviana and find the track for your train.

You don't have time to see Ravello, save it for the next trip and barely enough time to see Amalfi. If you want to go to the AC, stick with Positano. It's picturesque, your day will be more unhurried and you'll have a lot more time and less perspiring.

With two hours walk the west along the seaside via Positanesi d'America, which begins near the Covo Hotel.

I think I mentioned this walk on my trip report. REad the post from May 7.2008 for details:
An unforgettably, flat stroll past aquamarine waters and Saracen watchtowers, to Fornillo Beach.
