Two hours in Paris...lunch ideas please
Hi all! WeŽll be passing thru Paris this Sunday, (IŽve had a post before and Sunday suggestions, which will be used when we get back to Paris in Oct-for now, we only have a limited time)and would like to leave Austerlitz train station, get something fabulous and then get back on at Gare Lyon...I donŽt have the ticket handy, does this sound right to go to Nimes?
Anyway, we have about two hours, so recommendations please--my motherŽs first look at Paris, and my first time back in several decades!! Thanks again, R |
Le Train Bleu at Gare de Lyon gets raves from everywhere. Two hours might be pushing it a bit - but tell your waiter when your train departs so they can notch up their typical leisurely lunch schedule.

"Le Train Bleu at Gare de Lyon gets raves from everywhere"
The place is certainly nice but prices are steep for what amounts to very average fare. |
BUT they would be at the Gare de Lyon and in a fabulous space in Paris. Order light and quick. The food is reported to be just so so.

If you have two hours between trains in two different stations, I am not sure how much time that will allow for a great lunch....
|
With only two hours to change train stations AND have lunch, you'll really be rushing--no way to enjoy a nice lunch. Save the nice lunch for a time when you can relax and enjoy it.
Where are you going from the Gare de Lyon? |
Well, from Gare d'Austerlitz to Gare de Lyon is crossing the river and up a block - twelve minutes, according to mappy.com.
Two hours is pretty slim anyway - but not too little time. |
Thanks all, good thing I didnŽt want to take the 69 bus also! WeŽll try the Train Bleu! R
