Two hours in London????
If you only had two hours to spend in London what would be the one thing you would want to do? I guess I am looking for the most exciting things to do while we are there next month. What did you love the best?

Thanks,
Robbyn

Robyn:
Hope you are just joking or want to start a thread a mile long.

Assuming your are flying into London, and assuming your flight is on time, your will have just enough time to take a taxi into London from either of the airports and turn around again. Sorry, I can't think of anything you would want to do in two hours, unless you could catch a helicopter sightseeing flight at the airport and fly over London.

British Museum: them Brits - er - gathered cool stuff from their colonies.

If you're a first time visitor, I recommend one of the double-decker bus tours. Great way to see everything in two hours.

Or spend two hours in Harrod's...

Jim,

We are going to be in London for 3 days. I would just like to know, from someone who has already been there, what they liked the best and what they would do over again.

Thanks,
Robbyn

IF they were first time tourists and wanted to see things uniquely British, I'd list it in this order:
1. British Museum
2. Tower of London
3. Covent Garden
4. Train to Windsor/Eton
5. Harrods
6. Fortnum & Masons
|
Three days is much better!!

I would add to the above list:

Buckingham Palace (If it is open when you're there)
Hampton Court (All, or most of a day)
St. Pauls
Westminster Abbey
Kennsington Palace
|
Yes, Yes, jiim is right, how stupid of me to forget Westminster Abbey--put that closer to the top!
|
I'd have lunch at the Ivy with Damien Hirst. And I would drink a whole bottle of Bollinger Grand Anee 1990 all by myself. Damien can have the Krug.
|
I would just stay at the airport and try to shag one of the BA female flight attendents (not that the male ones are not cute, but I do not swing that was).....
|
Robbyn--
I think the other suggestions so far have omitted my favorite, and the most intriguing of all the sights in London to me: the National Gallery at Trafalgar Square. Unless you dislike art, you could spend your entire 3 days there and love it. It's certainly worth a few hours. They even have a neat little restaurant where you can grab a snack for lunch. Aside from the National Gallery and all the other good recommendations, I would add the British Air Museum with its old WWII aircraft, many of which you can't see anywhere else--but I'm an ex-pilot and maybe am a bit biased.

Nigel
You will be lucky if you get shagged by an Iranian goat herder or his goats...you bloody bugger.
