Hotel Alimandi is in a quiet neighborhood across from the entrance to the Vatican Museum. Lots of restaurants, accessible to subway and to buses.
Arrange now on your own or through your hotel to do a tour of Rome.
Or, if you cannot get on a tour, take the #81 or 82 bus from in front of the Vatican to the end of its run...you'll see the Forum, Victor Emanuael, Colisseum.

I suggest you Hotel XX Settembre. It is located 5 minutes walk from Termini Station.
Nearby the Hotel there is Via Nazionale ,Via Veneto... And the tube to reach tha Vaticam is only 3 minutes from the hotel.
Like tours I suggest you these:
1) Colosseo , fori imperiali, Piazza Venezia, altare della Patria.
2) piazza di spagna, fontana di trevi, pantheon ,piazza navona
3) san pietro basilica with visit to sistine chapel
4) Vatican museums

Best regards

I'd suggest a Vatican Museum tour that includes the Sistine Chapel. It's very interesting, you get to see a lot, and when you are done you are let out right at the security entrance for climbing St. Peter's Basilica. Figure that is a good half day.
You can do the Colosseum, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain for another half day. If possible get the Underground Colosseum tour (it was amazing!)
At night hit up the Spanish Steps.
If you can, do lots of walking because you will find those hidden nooks and crannies.
