Two Days - Dingle or Kinsale
 

Hi all,<BR><BR>Still trying to plan my Ireland trip... My question is should I plan on spending two nights in Dingle or in Kinsale? We will be arriving in Kinsale from staying at the Waterford Castle and golfing all day. Our current schedule would get us into Kinsale in the evening and leaving the next afternoon. Is that enough time to see everything? Should we spend an extra night in Kinsale and then only spend one night (two full days) in Dingle? Help!!

My preference, spend the extra day in Dingle. Kinsale is a charming town, but unless you want to spend time in Cork, you'll have plenty of time in just one day. There's so much more to see & do in Dingle, you really need the extra time.

You could go to Cobh first in the morning perhaps, breeze thru the museum and learn about the Titanic and Lucitania and then off to Kinsale for a drive thru and a late lunch, early dinner by the water. There are some good views and very relaxing. Perhaps spend the night. Then you could be off to the Dingle Peninsula to spend the majority of your time there. Be sure to drive Conor Pass and Slea Head Drive, beautiful scenery. Just a suggestion! You will have fun no matter what you decide!

I'd recommend one night Kinsale and then head off to the Dingle Peninsula. The Ring of Kerry is also a fabulous place to visit. I hope that your golf is at the Old Head at Kinsale! It is an amazing course!! If your not playing there, visit the course just to see it.

Definitely Dingle. We went to both places (guys played at Old Head - even the one who griped about the cost said it was worth every penny when they hit the 12th hole), and while our favorite restaurant of the whole trip was in Kinsale, our favorite 3 days were in Dingle and we wished we'd been able to stay there longer. Kinsale is pretty, catch the walking history tour while the guys golf, then head to Dingle which you'll remember the rest of your life. Be sure to watch the sun set over the Blasket Islands at least one night.
