No experience with either apartment, but I did stay in a different apartment on Via in Arcione and liked the location very much. Just down the block from the Trevi Fountain, convenient to several bus routes, walkable to most parts of the city. There's a little fruit and vegetable market on the street in the morning.

i just recently (2 weeks ago) stayed in the campo de' fiori area and loved it. i walked to the trevi and thought that it was way to touristy. but campo was more authentic. you don't get all those people trying to sell you trinkets in the campo area as you do near the trevi. more peaceful.
lots of great food in the area. there is a fresh food market in the square during the week and on sunday it's a nice bazaar (great apricot and honey jam, yes together). walk to giolloti(sp?) for gelato...the best. it's a 5 minute walk. i think it's near piazza novana. on you're way there there are 2 good pizzerias: bafetto and montecarlo. my vote campo. prego. |
Thanks for the information so far. It's still hard to choose though... I just wish I had been in both areas before. I know they're close... Anyway, thanks again!

Both are in hopping areas and both are very central. The Via Arcione is closer to the Coliseum and Via dei Cappellari right across from Navona and closer to St Peter's. Apartments are probably a 15 20 min walk apart.
Campo dei Fiori - as noted has a wonderful market in the mornings, fruit, clothing, cheese, meat, fish, veggies, kitchen goods. I prefer this area. By the Trevi you are central to much also - shopping, closer to Villa Borghese for walks or picnics. I guess it really depends on what apartment looks best to you because both locations are good. Personally I would choose the Via dei Cappellari for location I tend to hit the Trevi very late at night or very early in the morning because it gets congested. Good luck with your pick & let us know! Ciao, Eileen |
