Twin or Double Room: what´s the difference?

I´m trying to book a hotel in London and they offer twin and double rooms, usually at the same price. What´s the difference?

A twin is a two single beds room and a double is one just bed for two people, king or queen size :)

Thanks for asking this Simone, I was too embarrassed to. Forgetting the difference myself even though I have traveled to Europe before.

Are you looking on venere.com? Remember their bookings link that does not provide reservations through sight.

Tnks Kenderina.
Sarah, I was checking Luna&Simone Hotel. Good rates, good reviews.
Also British Airways has good rates for hotels.

Don't count 100% on getting a King or Queen with a double room in London (or Europe). You may be disappointed to find you got just a 'double' - the regular old fashioned kind that is kind of small for 2 people.

To avoid that "surprise" it is often best to book a twin room, unless you are positive what kind of bed the rooms feature.

Simone if you have not made your airlines reservation yet, check out www.kayak.com someone on here, I think a fodors staff suggested this to me. ITS GREAT. Takes the work out of searching for deals. See side blue panel with sliding bars that helps you manipulate your results to find ideal dep time, coming and GOING!

Also be careful with neighborhoods in London and those booking deals. I lived in London some 20 years ago. I can remember a good 10 years ago seeing a lot of hotel deals in Earlscourt through American Airlines and New York Times. A cheap place that you could arrange on its own. I also know Honolulu and often see hotels offered that are in inconvienent or even in unpleasant neighborhoods but you would not know that if you did not check around.

check out www.venere.com and tell me what you think. If you are interested of course.
