Twenty London hotels under $150 USD from Chicago Tribune
Here they are
Harlingford, Jenkins, Morgan, Cranley Gardens, Hotel 167, Swiss House, Amsterdam, Henley House, Maranton House, Merlyn Court, Rushmore, Balmoral House, Gresham, Columbus, Hyde Park Randa/Springfield, Blades Hotel, Luna Simone, New England, Winchester. Most do not have air con. or elevators, but all are en-suite. Hope this is helpful to someone.

I went thru the hassle of registering with the LA Times website to read this article --- printed Sept. 22 in the travel section. Author provides alot of detail on each of these twenty hotels listed here. As Becky cited, most do not have A/C or elevators (a few do) --- some of her criteria for selecting the hotels was price which was a total of $150 for 2 people including the 17% tax; convenience, she wanted hotels that were in close proximity to a tube stop, to afford easy access to the major sites throughout London.
