TV schedule in Paris

What website would be the French equivalent of TV Guide, to look up schedules? (Specifically, the "New Year from Vienna" concert.).

Christina Dec 30th, 2010 01:06 PM

There is a TV guide section in the weekly entertainment guide, l'Officiel des Spectacles. That's one reason I buy it instead of Pariscope.

Well, it will be on channel 2 (France 2) in any case.

It is at 11:15 and will last 44 minutes.

MademoiselleFifi Dec 30th, 2010 01:14 PM

Merci, Kerouac.

44 minutes? The US version is usually at least 1 1/2 hours? Do you get just the music without all the commentary by whoever is replacing Walter Cronkite this year? That would be great. I assume the ballet segments are shown worldwide?

logos999 Dec 30th, 2010 02:13 PM

The ballet segments are worldwide, no special commentary needed. ORF2 is broadcasting from 11:15am to 11:50am CET. No idea what's happening on French TV in the remaining 9min. :-)

MFifi, can you get Germany's ZDF where you're staying? My understanding is it'll broadcast a NYE concert of the Dresden Staatskapelle, and I think Renee Fleming is singing in the concert (starts 17:15).

As for the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Day concert, will it be shown again on your home PBS station after you return?
