Tuscany wine tours
 

We're leaving for southern Italy in 10 days (yeah) - the 1st 3 days in Rome and then into Tuscany for 4 days. Can anyone recommend a specific town where we can stay and take day trips along with a wine tour?<BR>

This is information I've gathered for our next trip. Hope it helps.<BR><BR>Badia a Coltibuono: [email protected]<BR>This is a great winery/restaurant/olive oil producer/balsamic vinegar maker & cooking school. It's about an hour south of Florence. The food is supposed to be excellent and the the winery is gorgeous. They also have a store for tasting wines and oils. <BR><BR>Castello di Verazzano: www.verrazzano.com<BR><BR>Castello Banfi www.castellobanfi.com<BR>

Carol, needn't add any more becuase you've received enough pointers to keep you busy for 4 days...however if you do happen to be around Castellina, go and see the village of fonterutoli - it's 4 km south of castellina on rte 222, on the right hand side. Drive slowly; if you blink once too many you'll miss the village. One of the best wineries in my mind (www.fonterutoli.it). I also concur with Monterinaldi: one of the best Classico Riserva's. They will also give you a most detailed road & wineries map of Chianti... Lehayim!
