Tuscany Villa Rental

We are a family of 10 (8 adult + 2 kids) who will be traveling to Italy for the first time this Oct 13-21. My husband and I along with our 2 kids (1 and 3 yrs) will travel from USA to Italy while my parents, my two sisters and their husbands will travel from India to Italy. We want to spend 4 days in Rome and 4 days in Tuscany. My mother’s 60th b’day is on Oct 18th and, we want to do a wine tour and have a cooked dinner at a Tuscan villa on that day. Thus, we prefer to spend the first 4 days in Rome (fly into FCO) and the last 4 days in Tuscany (fly out of FLR). We will rent a car to drive from Rome to Florence.

We are having trouble finding a luxury villa to rent for only 4 days (Oct 17-Oct 21; most villas are for weekly rental). We want a 4 double bedroom/4 bath villa very close to FLR (upto 15-20 min drive). We would like the villa to be walking distance from some shops/restaurants but also want the private/pretty landscape/pool qualities of villas. I don’t have a set budget in mind yet as we are taking my parents and it is my mother’s b’day so we would like something a little fancy. I would appreciate any help/advice on villa rentals. I have read through some of the posting on this same subject but wanted to see if anyone could help with my specifics. Thanks in advance.

Since October is no longer very highest season, you could try to ask the villa agency to negotiate a four-day rental for you.

On another travel board, someone from one of the better agencies just suggested that if a villa is not rented now for October, it probably will not be, making price negotiable. I would imagine length of stay would also become negotiable.

Thanks for your reply. I have spoken to a few villa owners who were not willing to negotiate even for October rental but I will continue to look and hope to find something. Thanks again!!

If you check a site called www.italyby.com you will find many many villas in all areas for rent and lots of them don't necessarily rent only by the week. My personal favorite area to stay would be in the Val d'Orcia. I stayed in a hotel though so I cannot give you specific recommendations about a villa.

Have you tried holiday-rentals.com? The posted point of contact are the owners themselves and there are dozens of villas in that area....somebody will bite!

I just entered your data into the above site (holiday-rentals.com); Tuscany villa, sleeps 10+, Oct 17-21 availability. It returned 143 choices. Again, e-mail the owners, I am almost certain somebody will help you out.

This rental, Villa Renata in Bagno a Ripoli from Rentvillas seems to meet your requirements regarding size and location:

If you find one that seems reasonable...it's sometimes worth renting for the entire week even though you're not staying there that long.
