Tuscany - Purchasing Bus Tickets

Finally getting down to the wire (less than tow weeks) till we head for Italy on our first trip. I am trying to settle any final questions/logistics before we head off.

Can someone describe the process of purchasing bus tickets at Poggibonsi and San Gimignano? Is there a ticket office or a ticket machine or just pay the driver? Any other comments.

Thanks
Larry

If I remember correctly, you could buy tickets from the counter at the bus therminals both at S.G. and Poggibonsi, and make sure punch the tickets at the box when you go onboard.

Is there an actual terminal at Poggibonsi or just a stop??

Any other people's memory/experience?

usually there is some kind of bus kiosk and i think tobbaconists and some shops sell them as well.

I rode buses extensively recently around Tuscany and there usually was a kiosk but sometimes, like in Urbina (Umbria) i had to buy at a cafe in front of the bus central.

Sorry don't know about Pogg or Sgimi but in any case no tickets sold on the bus IME

I'm talking about the blue SITA buses (or are the orange?)

HI T,

For SITA buses, you uy the ticket at a kiosk or tabac shop before you get on the bus.

Be sure to stamp your ticket.
