Tuscany - Pienza area
 

Going to the Pienza area - Driving from Civitavecchia, is it better and quicker to go up the coast to Grosseto, or would it be better to go back to Rome and on to the autostrade?

and the same question in reverse, to Fiumcino airport.

Take the coast road as far as Tarquinia and then SS-312 to connect with SR-2 as far as San Quirico and then S-146 over to Pienza. I would stop in Bagno Vignoni. Plan on 2:30 plus stops.

No, run the program Google maps for return, but it will say to take A-1 and the GRA---I am curious which direction on the GRA--last time it suggested around the east side to exit #30.
