Tuscany on a Sunday

We'll be in Tuscany over a weekend coming up in June. We were thinking of driving and visiting the area around Montalcino, Pienza, etc on a Sunday. Will restaurants and shops be closed or do businesses operate normally on Sundays in this area?

Most shops will be open on Sunday, but will definitely close for the normal daily break of around 1-5pm. Restaurants may also close for the same regular break, but you can always find a sandwich/bar/cafe for a quick bite.

We were recently in Montalcino on a Sunday and everything seemed to be open! We had a great time there!

e werein Orvieto on a Sunday and there was a revival being held outside side with people joining in with dancing and singing.. There were tents set up on the side of the church with oils, breads, cheeses, etc. Shops and restaurants were open and there was also a flea market...
