I recommend that your first do a search here and at http://slowtalk.com/groupee/ Then ask specific questions that relate to a future trip. There are literally thousands of recommendations that have been posted that address your post. |
Montepulciano was really neat - quintessential tuscan hilltown
siena is a big hill city very nice san gimignano swell but the latter two are tourist meccas in summer - too much for some i've been to dozens others and i believe you can't go wrong - Volterra, etc. |
Buy the small book TOP 10 TUSCANY by Reid Bramblett for his top 10 and much more. I concur !

That's an awfully general question!! What are you interested in? Art? Architcture? History? Wine? Food? Olive Oil? Festivals? Hanging out in piazzas drinking coffee? How long will you be there?
You really need to buy at least one good travel book and study it. Note that the green Michelin guides are really focused on art, architecture and hisitory. You may find others that are more useful to you. Go to the bookstores and browse until you find the one that appeals most. The cost of the book will be well repaid when you go. In fact, if you only need part of it, tear the book apart before you go and only take what you need. Charnee |
