Tuscany Driving route tips

Hi. A friend and I are planning a trip to Tuscany in February next year. I know it's still months away, but i think it's best to plan this early especially that it's both our first time..
Can anyone please suggest route/s to take starting and ending at Florence? I heard Siena is a must see. The trip would only be for 4 days. Any suggestion or other tips that would be of help will be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

SR222 is a great route. Personally,I'd skip Siena since you seem to be staying in Florence. It can be a hassle driving into. You might consider heading over to San Gimgnano/Volterra. You can head back on the autostradale.

Hi kat,

It will be easier to visit Siena from Florence by bus than by car.
The bus station is on Via Santa Catherina da Siena, near the SMN train station.

Where will you park your car in Florence?

Do not drive in Florence at all !
Bus to Siena. Train to Lucca. Hire a driver one day.
Feb. can be chilly--pick your day trips based on weather.

Thanks guys! Nothing's final at this point.

For sure we will be flying in from Frankfurt but dont know if to fly in to Florence or Siena. We've been to Florence a couple of years ago but only for a day. More research to do....

But you've all been very helpful.

Thanks
