Tuscany Castles
 

Has anyone stayed in a castle in Tuscany? I'm checking out the ones on www.tuscany.net & there are so many great ones we're having trouble deciding!! Since we'll have a car we're just looking for a central location. Any recs??

PS We are mainly looking for a quiet place - it seems some of these castles have a lot going on - cars to transport you to town, banqets, etc.

What time of year? Castles can be cold and are not well heated, or can be hot in July or August. I would consider comfort.

Mid June. It seems that a lot of them have fans, no AC, which is fine.

We will be staying at Castello di Spaltenna late June which is listed in your website. The reviews look good. A friend who is a tour guide in Florence highly recommended it and described is as "di Classe".
