Tuscany Accomodation Help

I am looking for a villa or small hotel for 3 nights around siena or chianti (within an hour or so of Florence). I would like a place with 4 stars that accepts children and has a nice swimming pool. We tend to like more modern accomodations and amenities i.e an older villa refurbished interior (but will be flexible as we know Tuscan interiors are unique in style). Any reccomendations greatly appreciated. I know there is a lot of information on this board, but not one thread w/ this specific request. Price range about 200-250 euros. Thanks!

Look at Castello di Spaltenna.

Also look at Frances Lodge outside Siena.

We stayed at the Il Patriarca in Chiusi. The price is less than what you have posted. A totally refurbished Villa with a Michelin star restaurant and a great breakfast that is included in the room price!! The pool wasn't finished in June but I'm sure it's done by now and the rooms have very good air conditioning. here is the web site. www.ilpatriarca.it
Enjoy!

We stayed last summer at Tenuta Lupinari near Siena and Chianti and loved it. Very reasonable, newly referbished, great pool, etc. Check out their website at http://www.lupinari.com/. It's more beautiful than the pictures. Ciao . . .

If Bob says "Castello di Spaltenna", then that is undoubtedly advice worth listening to.

But it's also a key to finding lots of good threads on the kinds of places you are seeking. Just search "Spaltenna" on this forum - - or here's another even more "unique" search word (and probably a choice worth looking into): Scacciapensieri

Best wishes,

Rex

Lewis - you stayed at il patriarca - what was it like and what type room did you stay in? Thanks!

Hi vinorosso

I don't remember what room number we stayed in but, it was on the 2nd floor. The room was large with a queen size canopy bed, great a/c, surround sound stero/tv and a large and very modern bathroom. A great base for exploring the region. You will love this place, I guarantee it!
The breakfast buffet was very good and the dinner we had there was one of the best on our trip. Enjoy!
