Tuscany accommodations

We are planning to spend at least a week in the Tuscany/Umbria area in mid to late May. We've been there before and love the Pienza area. At that time we stayed at La Saracina, which was lovely, but we are very interested in photography and found it a little out of the way when accessing Pienza and San Quirico for early morning light. Can anyone recommend nice accommodations in Pienza or San Quirico? Also, we'll be new to Umbria, and hope to spend a night or two near Assisi. We'd appreciate hotel info for that area, also.

Thanks.

Sure !
www/palazzodelcapitano.com I understand about the morning light. I got some of my best shots in the San Quirico area and the town is charming.

And, here are some of the shots I am talking about. For Umbria, look at the Hotel Umbra in Assisi or better yet the Palazzo Bocci in Spello.

To Bob...really great photos. They make me want to return to Italy - soon.

To BobandBunkie...You are going to like Umbria. In the countryside, within easy driving distance of Assisi, in Colle San Paulo is Romantik Hotel Villa di Montesolare. We stayed in the original farmhouse there and were very pleased. I think the website is www.villadimontesolare.it/

Hi BobandBunkie,

Another high recommendation for Palazzo Bocci in Spello, nearly no tourists. It was the best accomodation of my last 3 week trip. Very short drive to Assisi which is also beautiful, but very heavily touristed, of course.

Buon viaggio!
