Tuscany - 2 Nights, 3 Days

My wife and I are trying to get the best feel for Tuscany between trips to Venice and Florence. We will in Tuscany for 2 nights (3 days). Any recommendations on where we should stay, what we should do? This is our first time to Italy! Thanks for your help!

I'd suggest something in the Siena area. I don't know what class of hotels you'd be looking for, but there are some really nice and reasonable 4* hotels in the area of Siena/Chianti/etc. Check the website for JDB hotels. They have clickable maps to get you to the area you want to. Then you can click on specific hotels to get more information on them.

>best feel for Tuscany<

That would be the Val d'Orcia, to the south of Siena - the most scenic area of Tuscany. The hilltowns you'll get to see are Montalcino, Pienza, San Quirico, Montepulciano, Montecchiello, etc. Also Bagno Vignoni and San Antimo. Three beautiful days!

Thanks for the great advice! Should we try to hit the Cinque Terre, or if we only have 3 days should we focus on those other areas?

Cinque Terre? NO. You have a full plate already!

Siena would get my vote. There's much to see there and you could take easy side trips to some of the nearby smaller towns if you want.
