Tuscany
Staying in Cortona for 5 nights. Want to visit other towns; advice on restaurant, vineyards to visit and beautiful site
|
Do you realize that Tuscany is roughly the size of Massachusetts and Connecticut combined? There are hundreds of towns to visit, each with its own personality and amenities. If you figure out what it is that you like to do, eat, see, etc, then be more specific with your questions, you will likely get better answers.

There are actually some very good guidebooks that are only about Tuscany that have maps for beautiful drives, and nice towns to visit for sightseeing and shopping. You can even find information on the internet if you google for "best drives in Tuscany" and "best towns in Tuscany."
That is a good way to start, but you will finally need to buy a guidebook too. |

I like the guidebooks from the Touring Club of Italy. I don't have the Tuscany guide, but we've used several of their other guides and found them very helpful (esp. all the maps) and informative, with the exception of hotel recommendations which I thought were hit or miss.
