Tuscanny Trip advice?
Hello Travellers! I am in the process of planning a trip to Italy in early Oct. with my girlfriend, sister and her husband. Plan on renting a villa in Tuscanny for a week either in the Montalcino/Pienza or Chianti area (Greve/Siena) Would like to be near a quaint village with cafe's/bars/restaurants? Any recomendations on the best area or Villa's appreciated. Will be staying in Florence on the back end so no day trips there required though we will do a few day trips since we will be renting a car for the week.
Thanks. |
Hi B,
Only one "n" in Tuscany. If you enter <Tuscany agritourismo> in the "seasrch this forum" box you will got many, many suggestions. ((I)) |
Thanks Ira...that's what I was looking for.

The best Tuscany info is at slowtrav.com--look at their reviews of rentals.

we are staying in greve july 2-6. there are 4 of us and we rented a small apartment....http://www.greve-in-chianti.com/lapiazza.htm for 75E per night. can't vouch for it yet but the price was great and the photos were very pretty.

Having spent time both in the Chianti region and the Val d'Orcia region (Montalcino/Pienza etc.) I vote that the Val d'Orcia region is one of THE most beautiful areas in the world. I know there are many that agree with me on this. I stayed in a hotel in Montalcino so cannot help with a villa, but definitely try to get one in this area.

We just returned from a trip to Italy where we stayed in Castellina in Chianti for four nights. We stayed at Fattoria Tregole - absolute paradise. They rent five rooms and two apartments on the most gorgeous farm land. Here's the web site: www.fattoria-tregole.com
