Turkish Mediterranean

We are planning a trip to Turky in early September for a little over 2 weeks and have planned the beginning and end (Sirinice/Selcuk - Ephesus; Cappadocia and Istanbul). We're having difficulty with the middle portion, which we're going to spend on the Mediterranean.

Basically, we know we will be departing Sirince early morning on the 2nd and must depart Antalya early morning on the 7th. Those are our parameters at this point.

We're from Southern California so we don't need days laying on the beach. I really want to spend a day on a not-too-crowded boat where we can lay on the deck, spend some time swimming and seeing beautiful sights. That is the only "must" for me during this time and everything else is up in the air.

Can anyone recommend how to spend these very short 5 days (not really five full days given travel time). We have heard Dalyan and Kas are nice, but what about Antalya?

Thanks in advance!

During a few trips to Turkey, I found they had got their act together regarding tourism and there are reasonably priced tours around the country, to the many historical sites, boat trips and so on. Try :

Hi staceys10

Here is my recommendation:
If you rent a car you can do this in 5 days.

2nd
Depart to Pamukkale via Aprodisias stay in Pamukkale.

3rd
Depart for Fethiye you can visit some places like HIDDEN VALEY stay in Fethiye

4th
Depart for Kas or KALKAN. There are lots of places to visit. Stay Kas or Kalkan (I prefer Kalkan)

5th
Depart for Antalya. Today will be bussy day for you you may visit lots of places Like St Nicolaus Church and MYRA.

OR
5th
Have daily tour to SUNKENCITY and stay in Kas or Kalkan

6th
If you stay Kas or Kalkan drive to Anltaya and visit places

6th
If you won't stay in Kas or Kalkan
You would be in Antalya and you can visit MUSEUM and the ruin of Perge and Aspendos. If you love Mountain Termessos wuould be good idea BUT it takes half days so you may skip (not prefer because museum is one of the best museum in Turkey) In the other hand Perge and Aspendos are MUST SEE places for the first timers.
If you stay in Antalya stay in the old Antalya. If you have car you may have problem to find your hotel because Antalya municipality created some PUZZLE ROAD this road BUT if you ask reception of hotel they will help you.

I hope this helps
Have a nice trip in Turkey

Bodrum, Dalyan, Gocek, Kalkan,(or sunken city at Kekova) Olympos

If you consider, you won't regret.
Taking boat for two days can only be private as your desires. You can also charter a boat on own without overnight.
Have fun and Happy Travelling,
Murat

Hi Kaneda;
May I ask what exactly you mean by: "I found they had got their act together regarding tourism" I found this wording rather disturbing. Maybe I misunderstand. But would like to hear your story.
Thanks,
Murat
