Turkey - Visa for US Citizens

Hello.

I just read a posting on Fodors.com saying that it was possible to get a special visa which might cost less than the usual current fee of $100 for US citizens for people making day trips to Turkey. Does anyone know if this is true? It just doesn't sound right to me. I am contemplating a day trip from Rhodes to Marmarsis.

Thank you in advance.

Ross. :-)

If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

I agree. Just wanted to know if anyone else had heard of such a thing. I haven't. I would rather pay the $100 fee so as NOT to have a problem.

I assume you are a US citizen. There is nothing on the website for the Turkish Embassy in Washington regarding a cheaper visa for US citizens. www.turkishembassy.org

You might want to check it yourself or give them a call.

I traveled to Turkery for 1 day from Lesvos last September. We did not have to pay money for a visa. If we wanted a stamp in our passport or we were going to be there MORE than 1 day, we had to pay E 65.00. We had a fabulous one day strolling around the town and meeting the local people. Great inexpensive food. I wish I were there now.
