Turkey - pharmacies - sleeping pills?

Hi

Does anyone know if sleeping pills like imovane (zopiclone) and xanax are over-the-counter drugs in Turkey? With bunch of thanks,

There are some simple sleeping pills like atarax (also an antihistamine) or insomin or unison all of which can be bought without a prescription.

you can also get mood pills like prozac and similar medicine. However, zanax is not recommended even if you can get it. I do not know the other names.

The Turkish pharmacies will freely sell medicine which can be given by regular prescription, but not those which require special green, yellow, etc. prescriptions.
We have possibly the highest per capita consumption of antibiotics in the OECD, because, unfortunately, people take them at the slightest indication of a cold or a flu.

The drugs you are naming are addictive and are not available OTC anyplace in the world I am aware of. And xanax is certainly NOT a sleeping pill - it's for serious anxiety, and to be taken as prescribed and only under strict control of an MD. (In the US this is a restricted drug and if MDs prescribe too much of it their prescribing habits will be investigated.)

Teas with ingredients like valerian root and chamomile can be helpful. Valerian root is a natural herbal sedative and chamomile is a traditional herb used to promote relaxation and sleep.

Here is some breathing exercise : http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/ART00521...exercises.html

Hope you feel better
