Turkey-Greece ferries/hydrofoils

My husband and I are planning on traveling by ferry or hydrofoil from Izmir, Turkey(or somewhere near Ephesus) to Rhodes in May. Has anyone had experience with this? It's been difficult to determine schedules online.

The vessels are relatively small and are run by local companies. The nearest route to Izmir is Cesme-Hios and the nearest to Ephesus is Kusadasi-Samos but, if you need to get to Rhodes, the main port is Marmaris.
Schedules are geared to day trips. Turkish boats go in the morning and return in the evening, and Greek boats do the opposite. So there are generally morning and early evening boats in both directions.

Hi cmmr,

Best way to cross to Rhodos is from Marmaris. May is just the beginning of the season, so less ferries than in summer but more ferries than in winter. Just in between.

It is normal that you could not get a real schedule as this will be more or less clear in March or beginning of april. So some more patience required. Turkish ferries are trying to fit the best schedules and I am sure Greek's are doing the same.

Regards,
Murat
